Dental implant is an artificial root, basically, that we can attach a tooth too. So, when a root is bad, we can replace the root with a dental implant and then put a crown on that tooth the way we would an actual tooth.
Dental implant is a good solution to replace a tooth compared to every other option because it doesn't rely on the adjacent teeth at all. Whether it would be a bridge, which would involve crowing those adjacent teeth and connecting a tooth to the middle, or a removable appliance that connects to teeth as well.
We are proud to offer a variety of procedures, from routine dental implant Sugar Land TX and wisdom teeth removal to advanced facial reconstruction and the treatment of oral pathologies. Dentures are appliances that sit on your gums, that are used to replace missing teeth. They move around a lot and people have struggled with them over the years. Dental implants are a method of attaching those dentures to your gums so they are stable and don't move around. There are a number of different options of doing that, either with something removable or something that's actually attached to the implants.
All-On-4 or Multiple Implant Placement with a fixed prosthesis is an implant-supported solution for patients who are missing multiple teeth. What we would typically do is remove any failing teeth. We would place implants, typically four at minimum, to provide a substructure. The All-On-4 procedure can be done as an independent procedure of the tooth extraction, or it can be done in conjunction. It really allows the prosthetics to be a lot smaller, a lot more comfortable.
We're replacing at the point just teeth versus having to use plastic like we would normally use in a traditional denture. So, it really allows us to use a smaller, more streamlined prosthetic. It's more comfortable for the patients and allows them to chew normally and speak just like they would if they had natural teeth.
With the All-On-4 procedure, we have total control of the patient's aesthetics. We can design the smile around your wants and needs.
Any patient who's missing multiple teeth or has teeth that can no longer be restored is a great candidate for the All-On-4 procedure. It's a very cost-effective solution that can restore a patient's natural smile, their function, and really give them a smile worthy of a lifetime.
A sinus lift is a special procedure that may be necessary when preparing for dental implant placement for the upper back teeth or molars. This augmentation procedure may be necessary because these teeth are located near the maxillary sinuses. The bone that separates the sinus from your oral cavity is often very thin, which can make successful implant placement difficult. Without the adequate amount of bone, the implant cannot heal and function properly. During this procedure, we can carefully lift the sinus floor and place a bone graft into the newly created space.
Depending on the available existing bone, the implant and the sinus lift may be performed simultaneously which decreases your overall treatment time. During your initial consultation, our team will carefully examine the quality of your bone and determine if necessary, which type of graft is right for you.
